How to play
- Navigate to gamezipper.com/canal-lock/ in any modern browser. No download or installation needed.
- Tap any unlocked level on the menu to start. Locked levels unlock as you complete earlier ones.
- Tap the lock gates at the right moment to raise or lower water levels and guide boats safely through the canal. Time your moves to avoid collisions and complete all 30 levels.
- Complete all levels to earn 3 stars. Use the restart button to try again if you get stuck.

Questions
- How do you play Canal Lock?
- Each chamber has a water level. Click inlet valves (top, blue) to raise the level and outlet valves (bottom, red) to lower it. When two adjacent chambers have EQUAL water levels, click the gate between them to lift it — then your boat can pass through.
- How is Canal Lock different from pipe rotation puzzles?
- Canal Lock does NOT involve rotating pipes. You manage discrete water levels in lock chambers using inlet and outlet valves, and equalize adjacent chambers to lift the gates between them.
- What is the boat draft?
- Draft is how deep the boat sits in the water. A heavy-cargo boat (Tier 5) needs a higher water level to float and pass through gates. The draft requirement is shown at the top of each level.
