About Akari
A Japanese logic puzzle where you place light bulbs to illuminate a grid. Each bulb lights up its row and column until blocked by a wall. Numbered walls show exactly how many bulbs must be adjacent.
Description provided by GameZipper.
How to play
- The grid has white cells (where you place bulbs) and black cells (walls). Some walls have numbers 0-4.
- Click or tap a white cell to place a light bulb. The bulb illuminates its entire row and column in both directions until hitting a wall.
- A numbered wall must have exactly that many bulbs in the four adjacent cells (up, down, left, right). A '2' wall needs exactly 2 adjacent bulbs.
- No two bulbs may illuminate each other. If two bulbs are in the same row or column without a wall between them, that's an error.
- The puzzle is solved when every white cell is illuminated by at least one bulb. Use hints if stuck!

Questions
- What is Akari (Light Up)?
- Akari is a Japanese logic puzzle where you place light bulbs on a grid. Bulbs illuminate their entire row and column until blocked by a black wall. The goal is to illuminate all white cells while following the numbered wall constraints.
- How do numbered walls work in Akari?
- Black cells with numbers (0-4) must have exactly that many light bulbs in the four adjacent cells (up, down, left, right). A wall numbered '3' needs exactly 3 adjacent bulbs.
- What are the basic rules of Akari?
- 1) Click white cells to place or remove bulbs. 2) Bulbs illuminate their row and column until hitting a wall. 3) No two bulbs may illuminate each other. 4) Numbered walls must have the exact count of adjacent bulbs. 5) All white cells must be illuminated to win.
