How to play
- Click any port (opening) around the grid's edge to fire a ray into the box.
- The ray behaves in one of three ways: Hit (absorbed by an atom), Reflect (returns to the same port), or Detour (exits from a different port, marked with a matching number).
- Use these clues to deduce where the hidden atoms are located within the grid.
- Click interior cells to mark suspected atom locations .
- When you think you've found them all, press Check to verify your solution.

- How do you play Black Box?
- Click any port around the grid to fire a ray. A ray is absorbed (Hit) if it strikes an atom, reflects (Reflect) if it bends back to its entry, or exits at another port (Detour). Use these clues to locate every hidden atom, then mark the cells and press Check.
- What do Hit, Reflect and Detour mean?
- Hit: the ray travels straight into an atom and is absorbed. Reflect: the ray returns to the port it entered from. Detour: the ray leaves through a different port, shown with a matching number to its partner port.
